About Goodwell, Inc.

Open Hole Logging Truck
Humble Beginnings

In 1968 in Moorcroft, Wyoming Gerald Bullard established Goodwell, Inc., an oilfield perforating and wireline services business. Soon thereafter, headquarters moved to Upton, Wyoming. From the simple foundation of one used truck, Goodwell grew into a company offering geophysical services throughout the country with trucks from Alaska to Tennessee and even one in the Fiji Islands.

However, the 1980's proved to be a strenuous time for Goodwell. To endure this period, the company downsized and became more centrally located, serving the Wyoming, South Dakota and Montana area. The boom of coal bed methane in the Powder River Basin led to the opening of a facility in Gillette, Wyoming, which is now the headquarters.

After nearly 50 years, ownership of the company remains in the Bullard family. Gerald’s son, Craig Bullard, is the President. While Gerald’s daughter, Melinda Powell, serves as Secretary/Treasurer.

Currently, Goodwell has 8 employees serving as geophysical loggers, perforators, and wireline riggers for the service of oil, gas, and water wells.
